Will the Declining Dollar Pickup?

dollar.jpgInvestors are beginning to worry as the US dollar shows no signs of recovery. Thursday swathe US dollar dip three points below the Japanese Yen. People are beginning to ask themselves whether or not the US dollar will ever recover? The thing is that this is not the first time that the US economy has dipped so far below however it certainly is the first time in thirty years that people are beginning to think that the US economy has passed way beyond the point of redemption. One of the biggest expenditures is the ever expensive war on terror which according to some experts should have actually boosted the economy owing especially to the hardware and supplies that are used up due to the war. Remember what the second world war did for the US economy? It actually brought it out of the great depression. Now in my opinion a war is certainly the last thing we need the current need of the hour is to actually get out of these wars and get automobile manufacturers to start manufacturing and exporting American cars again. However we all know that this is easier said than done as unlike before there is a global economic crisis looming and people around the world are holding back their expenses.

Having a Vacation on a Tight Budget

Most of us would postpone a planned vacation due to economic crisis. After working hard for many months, you deserve a break so you need not stop yourself enjoying a vacation just because you don’t want to cut off a chunk from your savings. You may cut on the length of your journey and on some expenses such as food and other miscellaneous items. With a little planning on your part, you can have a vacation even on a shoestring budget.

Here are some tips that may help you save some of your vacation money:

1.  Add a packet of vitamins to your first aid kit to supplement your low-on-everything diet. Items such as cotton buds, sanitarynapkins, and wipes can be expensive when bought during the trip.

2. If you’re going to a destination where commodities are expensive, you might want to pack a few dry food items such as powdered humus and nutrition drinks. Do not forget to bring condiments in small packages like ketchup, hot sauce, ground pepper, salt, sugar, and cream. Add some tea bags, milk, and instant coffee. Avoid carrying food in cans or glass jars to keep your luggage light.

3. Stay in a hotel or a resort that serves free breakfast. You can save some of your left-over food for snack.

4. Observe where the working people eat because those eating places usually offer low-priced but large-sized servings of food.

5. Look for a nearby farm upon arrival so that you will know where to buy cheap but fresh food such as fruits, vegetable and fresh meat.

6. Buy your souvenir items at outdoor markets where the local people shop. Learn their way of haggling so that you can get a fair bargain.
