How to Plan a Family Vacation

Who doesn’t want a vacation? And a vacation with your family can be the cherry on the cake. But, how to plan for a family vacation is always a headache. SO, here are few tips which can help you to plan a family vacation.

Consider the age of children: Deciding for a place is the toughest. Always consider your children age while deciding for a place. While younger children may enjoy places like Disney world but younger children may not enjoy it. So choose a place which offers fun for all age group.

Decide the time: Always decide the time in advance when you plan to take a trip. Children of small age may not be able to handle a long vacation while children in the age group of 15-18 may enjoy long vacation of 2-3 weeks.

Prepare Yourself for an Adventure Trip

adventure-travel-2.jpgIf you are sick and tired of travelling to those same old vacations then why not try your hand at an adventure holiday. An adventure holiday is a great way to enjoy yourself as well as get your adrenalin pumping. No matter what age group you belong an adventure holiday is sure to boost you energy level as well as give you a feeling of thrill. Unlike what most people think a hunting expedition is an adventure trip it’s just a different level of adventure. If you are into big game then a visit to Kenya will definitely take you to the heights of big.

I recommend that you take an all African safari. An African safari is a great way to both see wildlife as it is supposed to be seen i.e. upfront and personal as well as get a feeling of how huge some of those African Elephants and hippos can be. I would advise against people with weak hearts going on African safaris since there is no guarantee what you might see and encounter. Often times people get injured as well as escape death because some animal decides to play around with the truck you are travelling in.

Having a Vacation on a Tight Budget

Most of us would postpone a planned vacation due to economic crisis. After working hard for many months, you deserve a break so you need not stop yourself enjoying a vacation just because you don’t want to cut off a chunk from your savings. You may cut on the length of your journey and on some expenses such as food and other miscellaneous items. With a little planning on your part, you can have a vacation even on a shoestring budget.

Here are some tips that may help you save some of your vacation money:

1.  Add a packet of vitamins to your first aid kit to supplement your low-on-everything diet. Items such as cotton buds, sanitarynapkins, and wipes can be expensive when bought during the trip.

2. If you’re going to a destination where commodities are expensive, you might want to pack a few dry food items such as powdered humus and nutrition drinks. Do not forget to bring condiments in small packages like ketchup, hot sauce, ground pepper, salt, sugar, and cream. Add some tea bags, milk, and instant coffee. Avoid carrying food in cans or glass jars to keep your luggage light.

3. Stay in a hotel or a resort that serves free breakfast. You can save some of your left-over food for snack.

4. Observe where the working people eat because those eating places usually offer low-priced but large-sized servings of food.

5. Look for a nearby farm upon arrival so that you will know where to buy cheap but fresh food such as fruits, vegetable and fresh meat.

6. Buy your souvenir items at outdoor markets where the local people shop. Learn their way of haggling so that you can get a fair bargain.

The Comfort Of Airport Lounges

Airport LoungeWith increased security measures in place at a lot of airports, we often have long waits prior to departure. Check in time may be two and sometimes three hours in advance, and you may find the wait interminable. When we are travelling further a field, we often have long waits between the connecting flights, and it can sometimes be very tedious to hang around at the airport. So, what can we do when we have walked around for what seems like ages, and looked at all the shops that are on offer? Go sit in yet another crowded departure lounge? If you are willing to pay a little bit extra, why not enjoy the comfort of an airport lounge? Read the full story
