With increased security measures in place at a lot of airports, we often have long waits prior to departure. Check in time may be two and sometimes three hours in advance, and you may find the wait interminable. When we are travelling further a field, we often have long waits between the connecting flights, and it can sometimes be very tedious to hang around at the airport. So, what can we do when we have walked around for what seems like ages, and looked at all the shops that are on offer? Go sit in yet another crowded departure lounge? If you are willing to pay a little bit extra, why not enjoy the comfort of an airport lounge?
Airport lounges vary in price, but can be the answer to what you are looking for. They are often quiet, air-conditioned and very comfortable. Whereas airport lounges were often solely for business class passengers, they have now opened their doors for any flyers who wish to use them. Airport lounges typically offer free coffee, tea, soft drinks and snacks, so you can enjoy these at your leisure. You may even make the money back that you paid for the privilege, as airport prices are often quite dear. There is typically free wi-fi and internet access, as well as magazines and newspapers for your perusal. Some of the more posh airport lounges even have spas and showers if you have a longer wait and wish to freshen up.
