Quantum Of Solace Breaks Box Office Record

Quantum Of Solace

Quantum of Solace has made a record opening for any James Bond film with takings of more than £47.4 million at the North American Box Office. Previously, the largest debut was Die Another Day in 2002, with Casino Royale; the last Bond film taking $30m less. Quantum of Solace has pushed Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa out of first place with takings almost half at £24 million.

Quantum of Solace picks up shortly after the end of Casino Royale where James Bond confronted Mr. White. Vesper, the woman that James fell in love with was killed in the last Bond movie, and he is intent on tracking down the people that he blames for her death. Daniel Craig plays the part well, and viewers watch him struggle with his heartbreak and emotions throughout the film. Quantum of Solace shows viewers how Bond slowly changes to the man that he is later in the popular Bond movies, and shows how he slowly developed to become one of the most-loved characters in the world. Movie theatres were filled almost every showing since the film’s debut on the 31st of October.
